I have always had a human-focused mindset and a curiosity for how others view the world, but now I have found a way that I can use that empathy for good.
To understand the fundamentals and principles of design, I completed a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic/Digital Design, as well as Strategic Communication. This gave me a foundation to appreciate design and how it can be used to serve people better.
After this, I received my Master of Science in User Experience in a well-rounded program. In my studies, I learned best practices for designing with humans at the center, not only online through websites and apps, but also for processes and tangible products.
Every day is another opportunity to learn something new - I definitely don't take that for granted!
I find myself falling into the trap that "your work defines you," and as much as I love designing, I still love so many other things! When I'm not designing or buried headfirst in a book about "The Experience Economy" or other design jargon that I can geek out on - I'm creating stained glass, running half-marathons, grounding, competing in Spartan races, spending time with my dogs, perfecting my matcha latte, gardening, exploring nature, reading, praying, capturing sunsets/sunrises, enjoying a sauna sesh, or anything else that mentally, spirtually, or physically improves my life.
